Oh, The Wind and Rain is a slightly thick & thin 2-ply squishy Falkland yarn, hand spun on my wheel. It’s got shades of blue, turquoise, and grays throughout. Ready for knitting, crocheting, weaving, doll hair making, and more. This isn’t quite as soft as merino, but is still next-to-skin soft if you’re not too sensitive.
Suggested needle size: 7-9 US / 4.5-5.5 mm
Suggested hook size: I-9 to K-10.5 / 5.5-6.5 mm
Gently hand wash in cool water & lay flat to dry.
This fiber was dyed by The Yarn Wench.
Falkland isn’t a breed of sheep. It’s the name given to wool that comes from the Falkland Islands in the South Atlantic. The islands have a hardy mix of Corriedale, Romney, Polwarth, and Merino sheep. Partly due to the cold climate, pests and diseases are non-existent so chemical preventatives are not needed. Because of the mix of sheep breeds, Falkland wool can vary in softness.
Note: I do my best to portray accurate colors, but they may look different on your screen than they do on mine.
